It goes on. That is life's great sorrow and greatest solace. It goes on. A star dies and another is formed in a celestial cycle of birth and death. One mountain crumbles to sand and another explodes into being. An ouzel nest may last ten thousand years, while I will be dust in a hundred. When I truly understand, I know there is only the illusion of time, or rather, that we live both within and outside of time, and that we can be grateful for both experiences.
oh, how i have missed you. and to find my beloved Lorca's words on your return.
many years ago, (late sixties) i was part of a community in charlotte nc that began an integrated church (presbyterian us) and at it's inception we read o'conner's INWARD OUTWARD. this was the first i knew of your DC Church of the Savior. it has been a bittersweet addition to my old age to have you a part of my day.
welcome back.
So glad you're back. I've really missed reading Inward/Outward.
Thanks for putting me back on the email list for the daily devotion.
Despite the sleet and rain, my day brightened when inward/outward popped up in my mail. It is so good to have your company again, Kayla. I also feel a connection to the writings of Pipher, because she has offered insight to me on several occasions. Thanks for this quote.
This reminds me of when Peter tried to walk on water. When he focused on time as the Lord/Father God saw it, he walked safely above the muck. When he lost focus, he got caught back up in the muck.
thank you for the reminder.
I have missed your e-mails so much. How delightful to see Inward Outward in my mail once again. You made my day. Thank you.
wow! two in a row! so sweet. and how poignant (as always)--
good to have everyone back...
glad that inward/outward contributes with grace to me.
i am the luckiest guy of the month.
and this resumption of this daily email counts for me as yet another blessing.
