Church

If the church is not a place where we not only learn something about what it means to be human but also a place where seeds of a fuller humanity are planted in us and watered, to grow, then all our hymns and prayers and preachments are vanity.

Right! So many of us come to church, get fed and watered, and hide our seeds rather than planting them or maybe even better, throwing them to the winds to land wherever God wills. We treasure them, but that does not suit the purpose of seeds.

Some of us go to church and realise that it formed by an uncaring and unsupportive group of individuals. There is more caring ehibited at the purely social groups I belong to than the church I quit attending.

Unfortunately, or fortunately, however you see it, congregations are made up of people. Can't remember the person's name, but heard the quote one time - "love Christianity, hate the people."

"Where ever I go, there I am." is another apt quote to apply to issue.

It took me quite awhile to find a church were I could feel God's presence, sometimes inspite of the people sitting around me. I try not to be one of those 'inspite of people', but sometimes fail, too.
