Call: Lazarus Church is a local faith community, rooted in the tradition of The Church of the Saviour, seeking to follow Jesus by being in relationship with those who are marginalized and excluded by our culture, especially those living in poverty.

Knowing that our liberation is tied to each other, we live out that call through seeking to build church and share the Good News of Jesus with residents of Jubilee Housing and the surrounding neighborhood. We believe that Jesus longs for all persons to bring forth their gifts for the sake of the Kingdom. We pray that Lazarus Church will be the soil out of which those who hunger and thirst for God can grow in freedom and joy in being expressions of Jesus' healing love for our community and our wounded world.

Mission Groups: We are called to create and nurture structures that will help us to be in spiritual relationship with persons across economic boundaries.

Membership: We are committed to integrity of membership, and we grow in being the body of Christ through specific inward and outward spiritual disciplines that offer us a deepening union with God. Out of that union, we can offer a joyful response to that piece of God's dream for which we each were created. We long to be a concrete expression of God's loving, non-violent, healing presence in the world, and invite all who share that longing to join with us in regular worship.

Worship: Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of 1530 Fuller Street NW, Washington, DC. (Entrance is to the left of the main door.) Also, a Faith & Money Circle meets on Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. at the Festival Center, 1640 Columbia Road NW. All are welcome.
